POST WORTH READING

VIDEO art journal with me #1 🥀

hello everyone! I hope you are all staying safe at home and healthy. Within the last weeks of being in a lockdown, I didn't feel creative at all. It was either the stress and anxiety from the major changes, or just the burnout and slump from finishing university. However, it has been a few weeks of rest and being rather lazy, and now I feel like I am ready to create again. So far I have been doing daily drawings on Instagram for a daily challenge for 30 days, and I will soon make a post about the journey of doing something for 30 days. In the meantime you can follow me on Instagram to see some more illustrations, drawing on paper and art journal inspiration. IG: printableartsunday Art journal with me ~ art journal ideas I have finally published my first art journal! Last year I was into bullet journaling, but I realized that I would rather use Google Calendar, and make art journal for thoughts and creative expression. I love how the spread turned out, especially the qu

20 Summer Theme Art Journal Prompts ☀️

Hello creatives! It is 15 degrees outside, and even though we are in a lockdown, we are still allowed to dream about summer, right? Today I am sharing 20 summer theme art journal prompts. You can use these ideas for drawing, art journaling or even writing. For me art journaling is a mix of drawing and a diary.

Summer theme art journal ideas

1. What does summer mean to you? Make this into a mood board of summer, which is filled with things that you love about summer.
2. Summer bucket list. Draw or write down all the activities you want to do during summer. Some of mine include:
  • x seeing a sunset and sunrise by the beach,
  • x going camping
  • x doing something that involves heights (maybe tree climbing)
  • x make beetroot summer soup (it is cold and delicious, perfect for hot summer days)
3.Sunshine. What reminds you of sunshine? How does sun make you feel? As someone who has lived in Denmark for more than 3 years, so having a sunny day really feels like a gift. Sometimes after winter I feel like a vampire who gets overwhelmed by the sun.
4. The beach. What are the most fun memories you have had by the beach? It doesn't have to be a beach, it can also be a lake or a river.
5. Favorite summer scents. Is it the air after a summer rain? Or early mornings? Maybe a field of wildflowers in the countryside or the salty air by the beach.
6. Summer garden. If you are growing something, draw what is in your garden or write the experience in growing your own veg / flowers / herbs. If you don't have a garden, perfect - then just make your imaginary garden.
7. Summer reading list. For those who love reading, write down what you would like to read. What are the best books to read on the beach or by the pool?
8. Travel plans for the summer. If you already have plans for traveling, you can make a plan for the trip, or draw out what you will put in your carry-on! (For those reading in April 2020, the date when I am writing this, the summer plans might be cancelled until next summer, but we can still make it work somehow with smaller trips, right?)
9. Favorite ways to cool down on the hot summer days. Some things on top of my mind: a cold shower, a dip in the water, a cold beer, refreshing ice cream or an iced latte. Which one is your favorite?
10. Dream summer holiday. We are all allowed to dream. Where would you like to spend hot and sunny days? In the mountains, sleeping in a tree house surrounded by trees and a lake, or sleeping in a house that overlooks the beach?

11. Farmers market. There is not a better time for a farmers market than a sunny Sunday. if you get the chance to visit one, draw out what goodies did you get! For me the favorite are small cucumbers, rhubarb and apricots. Apricots are the best!
12. Favorite summer meals. We can all agree that in summer the appetite definitely decreases. Write down or draw your favorite recipes that are perfect for summer. Some of my favorite meals are the simple ones - salad with fresh veggies, cold soup and plum smoothie!
13. Summer music playlist. What songs do you jam to in summer? Every year I wish I would have made a playlist just for the fun of looking back at what music I liked.
14. Timeline of your summer. If you are already in the summer, make a timeline of how your summer has been. How many days have you visited the beach, or what has been the best memory so far?
15. Dream road trip during summer. Dig deep into your imagination and create the dream road trip you would like to have during summer!
16. Dreams. If it is summer already, you can create a spread of the dreams you had last night or recent dreams that you had.
17. What is the perfect summer day for you? Does it include a cold latte in the morning, a free afternoon where you can enjoy a picnic in the park, or maybe a day spent by the water?
18. Draw your favorite summer outfit or clothes. I have been trying to get to a capsule wardrobe, so I definitely will try to make a visual wardrobe and draw my favorite summer pieces.
19.Draw your bikini body and write things you love about yourself. I think no matter how confident we are in our bodies, when it comes to getting oneself into a bikini, it always feels a bit uncomfortable. Speaking only from my experience, I always feel so exposed and naked in a swimsuit. But this summer art journal prompt will encourage me to feel good and give a bit of self lovin' during summer.
20. Summer flowers. When I stand in a field of flowers, I see beauty. Especially around summer solstice the wildflowers have fully bloomed in all of their glory and the nature is alive.
