POST WORTH READING

VIDEO art journal with me #1 🥀

hello everyone! I hope you are all staying safe at home and healthy. Within the last weeks of being in a lockdown, I didn't feel creative at all. It was either the stress and anxiety from the major changes, or just the burnout and slump from finishing university. However, it has been a few weeks of rest and being rather lazy, and now I feel like I am ready to create again. So far I have been doing daily drawings on Instagram for a daily challenge for 30 days, and I will soon make a post about the journey of doing something for 30 days. In the meantime you can follow me on Instagram to see some more illustrations, drawing on paper and art journal inspiration. IG: printableartsunday Art journal with me ~ art journal ideas I have finally published my first art journal! Wall Decor Ideas To Freshen Up Your Home 🏠

I want to invite you to take this moment and look at your walls. What are your walls holding? Are they empty, or is there very old artwork hanging that you never really liked ? Today I want to share wall decor ideas to freshen up your home. There are so many great ways to make a room much cosier and put together, just by adding a few bits that will prefectly compliment the rest of the room.

7 WALL DECOR IDEAS TO GIVE YOUR ROOM A NEW LOOK

A quick list of all the bohemian decor ideas:

  1. Gallery with art and photos
  2. Choose big artwork
  3. Use a tapestry / fabric
  4. Add texture with macrame wall art
  5. Add shelves
  6. Use mirrors
  7. Create a textured wall

1 Create a gallery of art / photos

Having a gallery wall is a great way to spruce up boring and white walls in any room, be it living room or bedroom. Try to mix up having photos, artwork or your own art, and play around horizontal and vertical alignment and frames. Another tip, if you have a lot of frames, try to build the gallery from bottom to the top, as it will create an illusion of bigger place. I have seen some beautiful gallery walls that people fill with their family photos and best moments of the year or their life.

2 Use big artwork

Go for big canvas, as it will serve as a central piece. Whether it is an image or your own art, make sure it goes well with the whole room. Large artwork might be expensive, but one way how to DIY this is to buy a big canva in a thrift shop and cover it with your own. Creating simple abstract designs is easy, and you can always take inspiration from the internet.

4 Add texture with macrame wall art

The macrame wall hangings have been a great hit last year, and it is continuing this year as well. Such beautiful artwork that you can make yourself at home, or buy online. I amazed by how so many people are talanted at making these!

5 Add shelves

Make use of the space if the wall is easily approachable, and make most of it. For example, you can install shelves to put books or other miscellanious items.

6 Use mirrors

Because of the reflection that mirror gives, it also allows for light to expand in the room. Especially helpful for smaller apartments or rooms that might need a bit of a pick-me-up. Mirrors work great in combination of a gallery wall.

7 Create a textured wall

I have seen some amazing walls on Pinterest and on other social media, and I am living this trend. There are so many easy wallpapers outside that just need to be stuck on the wall.
